Farhat takes off from eight classes because girls are not supposed to get more education.

Ilyas fall in love with Shezad who was a beautiful, erratic, smart and liberal lady. She was quite illiterate but vivacious, well mannered and attention seeking. Ilyas is a good man, an ordinary man trying to do well, in spite of what the world throws at him. There are many complexities of relations in this novel. Shezad was already married and has six children. Shezad was also shacking up with Safdar neighborhood guy who later married with someone else. He takes drinks in daily routines and not a good man. The book gives the view of typical Muslim behavior in the Subcontinent and the women that wear burqas. Girls were taken off school. In short, the novel gave the view of the status of women in Subcontinents, the hypocrisy, wife verses colorful women’s and the male advancement in our society. The novel presents a lack of guidance and spiritual in our society.
