“Inorganic Chemistry: Principles of Structure and Reactivity” is a great book that explains complex subjects in a comprehensive way. James E. Huheey is the author of this book. There are not a lot of I-CHEM textbooks out there in the first place, and finding a decent one is even harder. This one, however, ranks among the decent ones. While it’s not brand new, the concepts and explanations are applicable to the latest college I-CHEM class.

The book uses relatively easy to understand examples, and even though at times the author does get a little presumptuous with the math. This book helps to reinforce and explain some of the concepts you might get in a book like Housecroft’s in a little more depth. For those of you who might feel this is important, is that this textbook is not full of color illustrations and graphs. It is all black and white graphs and print. Overall it vastly increases the knowledge of chemical bonding.
