Ana Veciana-Suarez is a syndicated columnist and author of several books, including “Dulcinea,” a historical novel that reimagines the woman who inspired Miguel Cervantes, and “Flight to Freedom” for middle schoolers. She’s also the author of “Birthday Parties in Heaven: Thoughts on Life, Love, Grief, and Other Matters of the Heart,” a collection of essays.
