A.E. Becker draws her ideas from her childhood love of fairy tales, folklore, and mythology. She has been writing since she was a kid, and working on getting better at it for a good part of her adult life. In 2010, she attended the Viable Paradise science fiction and fantasy writers’ workshop. She began writing the book that is now East of the Sun shortly after graduating from VP. She now lives on the west coast with her husband and their very silly shepherd dog Keyleth, and is hard at work on the next book in the saga of the Bear Kings.
