Leila Slimani is the author of this book. In this book, the author deals the normalcy of family dynamics with the tortured mind of the Nanny as they head down the inexorable path to destruction. The book presents a compelling portrait of how people can share intimate spaces and the care of children. It is great character representation, wonderful tensions and superb lack of fulfillment.

The book opens with the most horrific scene and words to a parent’s ears imaginable. This is a very interesting story. The main character, Louise the nanny, is deeply flawed. The author explains the whole story of a young couple in Paris. She has been home with her children but is aching to go to work and begin her career as a lawyer. The husband of the women is reluctant. Once they find the nanny she becomes embroiled in their lives and seems to take expert care of the children and the parents as well. They become reliant on her as the demands of their lives speed up. The plot is fascinating and well written. The moral lesson of this book is that the parents must focus on the children not depend on the nanny. We would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the parenting book.
