The Bone Season, the first in a seven-book series, was a New York Times bestseller and the inaugural Today Book Club Selection. The Song Rising continues from where The Mime Order leaves off, Paige has become Under queen. Samantha really matures in this book and spends a lot of time growing as a character.

Samantha describes, Paige Mahoney has risen on to the hazardous position of under queen. Every side plays a bloody battle against foes but Paige rises. Paige knows that her reign may be cut by the introduction of Senshield, a deadly technology that spells doom for the clairvoyant community. Furthermore, it is a really good addition to the series which finishes on a very satisfying conclusion. If you enjoyed the rest of the series this installment is not to be missed. And if you haven’t read The Bone season yet, I recommended reading this amazing series. To sum it up, The Song Rising is another excellent addition to the series for the readers.
