The Lost Symbol is an intelligent, lightning-paced story with surprises at every turn. Dan Brown is the guy behind this awesome novel. Dan is also the author of The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons. The novel is written in an engaging style so it does not get boring. The story focuses on Masonic tradition and the geography of Washington D.C. Robert Langdon has been asked to give a keynote speech on the symbolism of DC only to find that he is being pulled into a plot by a madman. Langdon unlocks clues that have been entrusted to him by his friend in order to save his life.

It also speculates about the suppressed details of Christ’s sex life and the location of the Holy Grail, the hermetic experiments of alchemy and the etymological riddles of biblical scholarship. Brown took with the subject research, by fleshing it out over a few chapters so the reader could sit back and relax after the excitement of the previous chapters as the action came to a climax. Overall it is an engaging read and we would recommend it to everyone.
