The Sketches of Irish Character is the first book of Anna Maria Hall in 1829. Anna Maria Hall was born in Dublin into Anglo-Irish gentry. Later she moved to London. Her husband becomes a motivation for her to continue writing. At the age of fifteen years, she becomes famous for her book, travel writing, and plays. Sketches of Irish Character: by Mrs. S C Hall (Chawton House Library: Women’s Novels) is her first book which made her famous and a household name in 1929. In the year 1844, the Sketches of Irish Character was revised and published again.
