Brian is travelling by plane to meet his father. It was the first time to visit his father after the divorce of his mother. When the plane crashes, all people died and the sole survivor is Brian. Brian has no luggage and food, he is alone in the Canadian wilderness. Brian slowly learns how to live alive. He learns how to make a shelter for himself and how to make a fire. Furthermore, he also learns how to hunt and fish for food. Even he finds the courage to start over from scratch when a tornado ravages his campsite. After the fifty-four days in the wild, Brian emerges with new patients and maturity and a great understanding of himself and his parents.
