Heather Morris is the author of this classic novel. Back in April 1942, a Slovakian Jew whose name is LaleSokolov. He is forcibly transported in the concentration camps at the Auschwitz-Birkenau. The first day went terribly for him and he was treated like animals. He got appreciation when his captors find out he can speak several languages. Lale is appointed to do the job of marking tattooist. He has to put the tattooist on the bodies on his fellow’s prisoners. He hated his job but there is no other option left for him.

Lale can’t say anything to them and he knows the consequences if he disobeys their order. It’s been two and a half year since he was working there. He witnessed the various incidents which are terrible atrocities and barbarism. Beside the fact, he helps the prisoners by putting his own life in danger. He brings the food by selling the jewels of dead prisoners. This was the only thing he can do to save the prisoners. One day, he saw a woman with a tattooed in her arm. Her name is Gita and she is very attractive in his first encounter to Lale. Gita’s prisoner number is 32407 and waiting to get tattooed. He decided to marry this woman no matter how horrific it would be.
